Groomsmen
Thank you for agreeing to stand alongside us on our wedding day! Below, you will find everything you need to know about groomsmen attire—we have tried to make it as easy as possible. Some of the items are specific in color and style and must be purchased via the provided link, while others are more flexible and you are encouraged to shop around for whatever suits you best. If you have any questions or concerns, please text us with your inquiries.
Dress Shirt
$20-$22 Click to purchase on Amazon (make sure the selected color is ivory).
Tweed Vest
$36-$40 Click to purchase on Amazon (make sure the selected color is tweed brown).
Neckwear
FREE Your bow tie has already been purchased for you! We will give it to you on the wedding day.
Jeans
To keep things casual and comfortable, all of the groomsmen will be wearing dark brown jeans. They should be dark chocolate in color, not unlike the back of the tweed vest. The style and fit is entirely up to you, but please do not wear brown slacks or other suit pants—this is a rustic autumn wedding, not a formal job interview! Here are two examples that you can use to help you find the right color jean. If you already own a pair, feel free to wear them.
Footwear
Kyle only adorns his feet with steel toe work boots, so naturally, this is what all of the groomsmen will be wearing. The style is up to your discretion, but the color should be some shade of brown. Here are a few examples to work from—you are welcome to forgo the steel toe if you find a shoe without, but Kyle highly recommends them!
First Dance
Our first dance will be to Nat King Cole’s “Orange Colored Sky” (the version we will be using is from the Fallout video game soundtrack). We would sincerely appreciate it if you took the time to listen to the song and commit the lyrics in bold to memory —they are simple and repeat several times, see below. When our first dance begins, we would love to have both wedding parties shout these lyrics out in time with the song. It should be a lot of fun!
I was walkin’ along, mindin' my business
When out of an orange colored sky
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
Wonderful you came by
I was hummin' a tune, drinkin' in sunshine
When out of that orange colored view
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
I got a look at you
One look and I yelled, "timber!"
Watch out for flyin’ glass
'Cause the ceilin’ fell in and the bottom fell out
I went into a spin and I started to shout, "I've been hit”
This is it, this is it, I-T it!
I was walkin’ along, mindin' my business
When love came and hit me in the eye
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
Out of an orange colored sky
(musical interlude)
One look and I yelled, "timber!"
Watch out for flyin’ glass
'Cause the ceilin’ fell in and the bottom fell out
I went into a spin and I started to shout, "I've been hit”
This is it, this is it, I-T it!
I was walkin' along, mindin' my business
When love came and hit me in the eye
Flash! Bam! Alakazam!
Out of an orange colored, purple striped, pretty green polka-dot sky
Flash! Bam!
Alakazam and goodbye
Wow, I thought love was much softer than that
What a most disturbing sound
